The Story So Far

Comenda is a springboard company of Ali Group. Its founder Luciano Berti recognized that as the post-war boom generated more restaurants, it also created the demand for professional dishwashers. By seizing the moment, Berti started what would become a global company.

1963

Comenda founded. The name is inspired by Costruzioni Meccaniche Industriali.

Business booms and Comenda expands into its new Cassina De’ Pecchi site, a 20,000 square metre facility that encompasses offices and a production plant.

1970

1971

Comenda France is established in Paris and quickly becomes the leader in the French market which accounts for 30% of Comenda’s production.

A forerunner in environmentally-driven and energy-saving design, the company creates the first prototype of a heat pump dishwasher.

1977

1980s

Comenda strengthens its position in Europe and starts to export worldwide.

Comenda launches its first carousel machine.

1991

1992

Continues to push the company’s environmental agenda with ECO2 programme, which aims to save energy.

Comenda develops its first turnkey project and system for inflight catering.

Late 1990s

2000

Comenda becomes a 360° partner from the presale consultancy to the development of a complete system to manage and better organize the washing area.

Comenda reviews and streamlines internal processes to achieve the ISO9001:2008 quality certification issued by the prestigious German TÜV.

2007

2011

Comenda is awarded the ISO14001:2004 environmental system management certification.

The new AC3 rack conveyor unit with the innovative Multirinse® module wins a major award, the SMART LABEL, at Host and receives the prestigious Grand Prix Sirha de l’Innovation.

2013

2015

Introduction of a complete range of innovative heating pumps and of a new range of flight machines with minimal water and energy consumption.

Introduction of the WRIS®2+ Wash and Rinse Integrated System, which reduces rinse water consumption by 25%.

2017

2018

Launch of the Hi-Line range, Comenda’s most advanced and energy efficient undercounter and hood-type washers.

Launch of DIVA. The innovative design of DIVA allows you to use two racks at the same time and a removable central arm: creating a 905 mm clearance washing chamber.

2019

2020

Launch of the ThermoCare range: undercounter and hood type glass and dishwashers in thermodisinfection and thermolabel test execution.
